Kashi Art Café

A Big Hello to each one of you! I am back from my holiday, feeling refreshed and I find myself pushing to get back into my routine. But I am happy to be back in my blogosphere. Today I’d like to feature a quaint little café called Kashi Art Café in Fort Cochin, famous for exhibiting beautiful art along with some great food, excellent service and ambience. The interior of this café is minimalistic with indoor and outdoor seats and decorated with interesting pieces of art and sculptures. They have a limited menu with great breakfast options, fresh juices, spiced tea , freshly ground coffee and I loved their chocolate cake. Kashi Art Café started as a platform for all talented artists to showcase their work and today it’s a landmark for contemporary art. I personally enjoyed the mix of art, food and soothing music in this elegant café. Kashi Art Café is definitely going to see more of me!

Paisley Pinwheels

My knees go weak when I see dresses for baby girls, hair accessories, bows and other accessories. Paisley Pinwheels is one such stop that offers a large selection of baby accessories, unique clothes for newborns, play-wear, fancy dress costumes and offer personalized creations.

Koryn Wright, a promising entrepreneur, is the brain behind this venture. Here is what Koryn had to share about her passion… over to you Koryn…

"My name is Koryn Wright. I'm originally from Houston, TX but my family and I have been living in the Middle East for the past 4 years. I'm a self-taught seamstress with a passion for creating new things and love being able to use creative thought in forming new designs for my costumes, clothing and accessories. My "custom creations" are one-of-a-kind and can be suited to most everyone's taste.

My inspiration for Paisley Pinwheels is my daughter. It came about that while we were living in Dubai, people would stop me almost every time we were out and ask where I purchased the hair accessories I put on my daughter, as an infant. These stretch bands were homemade...I've always had a "crafty" side, as this blessing comes from my mother, the queen of all things creative. So afterwards, we moved to Muscat and I figured that there was a need for whimsical accessories and clothing there as much as there was in Dubai...and so Paisley Pinwheels was born."

Through my lens: Ancient beauty of Nizwa

The picturesque drive to Nizwa nestled among the Hajar Mountains is perfect for a short day trip. The scorching heat didn’t stop me from appreciating the ancient beauty of Nizwa fort. The souq nearby was filled with earthenware pottery, traditional Omani Khanjar, wooden chests and heavy silver jewelry.

House of the Month: Vidya from What’s Ur Home Story

I was thrilled to discover a beautiful blog called What’s Ur Home Story by author Vidya, who is a financial analyst by profession, a home décor and a hard core DIY enthusiast. She lives in Northern Virginia, USA and is a busy mom to her two kids. There is so much of inspiration to take away from Vidya’s space…. It’s like a breath of fresh air.
